When the HeartStart battery is installed by the “install by” date, it can typically power your AED in a standby state for 4 years, including any self-tests the device should run. It also has a shelf life of at least 5 years from the date of manufacture. Does the Philips HeartStart battery have to be replaced after each use?
No. Each HeartStart battery can be used for at least 200 shocks or 4 hours of patient monitoring, provided it is within its expiration date. That said, we recommend buying a 2nd HeartStart battery to use as a spare, whether as an emergency back-up or for training purposes. How long is the warranty for on this battery?
The battery comes with a 4-year factory warranty from Philips. Are there extreme hot or cold temperatures in which the Philips HeartStart battery may not work?
